National Dance Team Championship February 4 - 5, 2012

The 2012 National Dance Team Championship (NDTC) will take place February 4th and 5th at the Walt Disney World Resort® in Orlando, Florida. The national championship is administered by Universal Dance Association, a division of Varsity Brands, Inc. The NDTC is the only national-level dance team championship that is endorsed by the National Federation of State High School Associations, the national service and administrative organization for high school athletics and fine arts programs in speech, debate, theater, and music.

Dance teams hoping to compete at the national level are evaluated at UDA summer camps in order to qualify for the competition. If you are interested in attending the NDTC and wish to learn how to qualify, contact your UDA State Director for details!

Last year, approximately 300 high school and all star dance teams made the cut and competed at the National Dance Team Championship, and we are expecting the same for 2012.  Dance teams compete in divisions based on team size and grade/age level and have the option to enter 2 of the following categories:  Jazz, Hip Hop, Pom, and High Kick.  Each year,  there are an estimated 10,000 spectators in attendance.   The competition will be broadcast on ESPN2 and will reach more than 90 million homes this year.  For coverage of the 2011 NDTC, please scroll to the very bottom of this page.
