And our 2nd Runner-Up is.....

Maine South High School - Park Ridge, IL

Team GPA: 3.8 (WOW!)

Highlights: The Main South Hawkettes excel in many different areas! When these ladies are not dancing, they spend a lot of time in their community. The team participated in multiple community service projects including the following:

- Breast Cancer Awareness- The team promoted breast cancer awareness at a home football game by performing a routine in all pink!

- Girls on the Run- The team cheered and supported participants in the "Girls on the Run" race. "Girls on the Run" encourages girls to prepare a healthy and self-respecting lifestyle.

- Feed My Starving Children- The team hand-packed 9,288 meals to supply 25 hungry children with food for a year!

- Sticker Shocker- Along with the local police, the team gave out stickers, passed out flyers, and hung up posters around their community that stated the legal repercussions of supplying alcohol to minors.

In addition to their success in academics and community service, the team also dances at all home football and basketball games. The team also competes and has won 17 Varsity State Championships.
